Support The Boy Scouts Published in the Augusta Chronicle newspaper

Boy Scouts were founded in 1907 by Lord Baden Powell. Lord Baden Powell was a general in the Boer war. When a a Chicago Publisher man named William Boyce was lost in the streets of England a boy walked up and asked if he could be of assistance. Boyce told the boy his destination, the boy directed Mr. Boyce in the direction. Mr. Boyce offered the boy money but the boy said "No thank you sir, I am a scout. I won't take anything for helping."
Boyce was so impressed with the boy's kindness that he met with the Founder of Boy Scouts of England, Lord Baden Powell. On February 8th 1910 William Boyce met with Educators, Political leaders and Businessmen to found Boy Scouts of America.

I told you all of this to tell you that today politicians are trying to make it so Boy Scouts cannot be supported by the US Department of Defense, dropping its sponsorship of the Boy Scouts. Politicians are trying to make it so Boy Scouts may not camp on military bases. Boy Scouts have military roots, but we cannot camp on the bases? Also It is not uncommon for Boys to be Cub Scouts then Boy Scouts and to become soldiers. Are we, the Boy Scouts going to lose priveledges because of the ones who have not been in Boy Scouts, ruin them?
